Citrus Disinfectant Spray

50s-housewife-experiment_thumb.jpg

Everyone seems to be on a Vinegar bandwagon especially when it comes to cleaning. Not everyone will love the smell, though. Here is a GREAT and easy way to create a disinfectant spray and depending on what citrus you use, can also be an Antibiotic, Antibacterial, Antifungal and Antiviral spray as well. See HERE for the properties of different types of citrus.

You Will Need:

Peel 1 Orange, Grapefruit, Lemon or Lime

3 Cups of White Vinegar

1 Clean Quart Jar with Lid

1 Clean 32 oz Spray Bottle

Directions:

Mix Vinegar with Citrus Peels in the Quart Jar. Store in a Cabinet for 2 weeks, shaking occasionally. After 2 weeks are up, strain the mixture and then put the liquid back into the Jar.

To Use as a Spray Cleaner:

Pour 1 cup of the Citrus Vinegar into a 32 ounce Spray Bottle. Fill the rest with water. Spray and wipe down whatever needs it– counters, cutting boards, etc.

To Clean Linoleum Floors: Use one cup Citrus Vinegar in two Gallons of Water.

Note, there will still be a slight vinegar smell but it will evaporate as it dries.
